Video: Trans Am Bowl Jam

Vital Video Trans Am bowl jamTrans Am distribution, home of Little Devil and Orchid Footwear, recently held an open house where riders could check out the warehouse and ride the incredible Trans Am bowl. Larry Rhodes was on hand to film this video for Vital BMX featuring Randy Brown, Brad Gethard, Aaron Buckley, Lumpy, Van Homan, Brian Foster, and Geoff Slattery.

Video: Firsthand Ryan Guettler

Ryan Guettler is a pretty big name in BMX. I guess when you get to a certain level you probably need to have your own website like ryanguettler.com. He was on FuelTV's Firsthand a little while ago and you can watch that here along with some of his other videos...

Video: Aaron Ross

Aaron Ross grind hop overAaron Ross is a hot topic of conversation right now. Whether it's speculation of him leaving FBM and going to Sunday or just talk about his new signature grips and other parts coming out, seems like everyone is talking about the guy.

I have no comment about any of that stuff other than i want those sig grips (is there a tailwhip button on those things?).

I figured I would find some Aaron Ross vids that everyone has already seen but should watch again. This is the NORA cup best street rider in '07 ...peep game.

Joe Rich Q & A on theComeUp Board

Joe RIch PicsJoe Rich is amazing. Such a great rider and compassionate individual not to mention a legend in BMX and successful entrepreneur. Ask 100 BMXers who their top 10 favorite riders of all time are and you'll hear his name over and over.

Well, Adam at theComeUp started the Pro Rider Q&A thread on theComeUp Board a while back and it's going strong with a bunch of pros answering questions. If you haven't been to check it out yet... you really should.

So what prompted me to write this post? This awesome answer by Joe Rich where he empathizes with a reader about ACL surgery and talks about his own ACL problems...

"that was probably one of the toughest times in my life... But I have to say this, after 5 knee surgeries ( 3 of them being full ACL reconstructions ). . . I wouldn't go back and change things to any other way.

During that time I learned a lot about myself. At the times that you feel that low, you have to dig deep to pull yourself up for air. Even when you think there is no air. Whenever you have the thing you love the most taken from you, you feel empty. But you can only let that emptiness remain for so long. It's a matter of survival in a sense. You have to let it turn to something else or you'll get eaten up.

I learned a lot about who I really was during that time. And also how much I was going to have to fight to get back to the place I wanted to be at. It also let me pursue things that I had been interested in, but never took the time to learn more about because I was too busy riding. Taking photos, and working with video for example. I took all the energy, drive and effort that would go into riding my bike, and applied it elsewhere. You can create a whole other side of life that you will like just as much as riding, even when you can ride again.

At least that's how I've learned to turn a bad situation into something good." -- Joe Rich

Well said Joe, well said.

Video: Ulterior Motives on Vital

This is all straight from the Vital site...

"You might be wondering why we did a video called The Ulterior Motive Mix. Well it's pretty obvious: we have some ulterior motives. The first is to give you free stuff. Glenn PP Milligan couldn't remember all the riders names in this video, so the first person to e-mail Glenn ( gppm@vitalbmx.com) with all of the correct names in order will get a prize, a really cool prize...

Our second ulterior motive has to do with a rider that doesn't appear in this mix. The band used in the mix is Endgame, George Dossantos' band. Endgame is about to drop its new album through Revolution Records (www.revhq.com). Since you guys are always asking the names of bands and music used in Vital BMX videos, we figured not only would we tell you the band name, but also tell you where you can buy the CD if you want to support George or you just like the band. Hit it up at http://revhq.com/store.revhq?Page=search&Id=GOOT12"

Top 10 Videos on Vital BMX

Top 10 Videos on Vital BMXVital BMX has posted their top 10 videos of the year. I don't know exactly how it was scored but I think it went according to number of views each video had. It doesn't really matter because there's no prize for top 3 or anything.

All 10 of the videos are pretty damn good so you should check them all out. I have posted the top 5 here... enjoy.

1. Scotty Cranmer Cement Park Session.
This was the first Scotty Cranmer video Felt put out in 2007, and it set the tone for what was to come.

2. Scotty Cranmer White Banks
Felt filmed a Scotty Cranmer video at the famous White Banks in Los Angeles, and Scotty produced tricks others had never even thought of.

3. Toronto BMX Jam
Riders flocked to Toronto for the BMX Jam in March, and there were some crazy moves thrown down.

4. Double Ditch Jam 2006
You won't be able to see this video because it is no longer on the Vital site for some reason...

5. Morgan Wade Goodyear Session
The Southwest has been blessed with some incredible cement parks, and Morgan Wade tore Goodyear apart in this video.

6. Levi's® Pro Team Remix
All year long Levi’s® cranked out hot clips. This video is a “best-of” featuring Morgan Wade, Jamie Bestwick, Corey Martinez, and Anthony Napolitan.

7. Scotty Cranmer Color Banks
Yet another Scotty Cranmer mind-blower from Felt. How does Scotty think of some of this stuff?

8. Red Bull Down & Dirty
This insane indoor street contest in Asbury Park, NJ, turned out to be one of the best events of the year.

9. New Dennis Enarson Video
The BMX world got their introduction to Dennis Enarson in 2007, and this video got everyone talking.

10. Anthony Napolitan Las Vegas Session
Does a video have to be long to be rad? No, it just has to be nuts. Anthony’s front-flip wedge-to-wedge did the trick.

Happy New Year! Bear with me

Hey, i'm sorry about the lack of posts recently but someone stole my laptop and I am having to go to the Schlotski's sandwich shop to post stuff from their computer. Oh and someone hacked my MySpace account cuz I guessed I left it open when I left there and someone got on it... oh well.

I'll be posting more tomorrow when my GF gets back into town and I can use her computer. I have 2 New Year's resolutions though. The 1st one is to post 10 posts a day on BMXfactor... and by 10, i mean two. The other resolution is... I want to keep next year's resolution.

Video: Jared Chilko & Luke Santucci

Ok, so I wasn't sure where this video was from but someone told me it is from the Summer of Fit DVD in the bonus section. I haven't seen that DVD so I didn't recognize this clip but if anybody from Fit doesn't want me to post this please let me know.

That said, these guys throw down some good shit and I want to see The Summer of Fit so maybe I'll go buy it today because I heard it's $10 or something and I'm sure I can steal $10 from my girlfriend's purse without her noticing. And if she does notice I'll pretend to not know what she's talking about... then distract her with a comment about Angelina Jolie or some shit, because let's face it... my girlfriend's not the sharpest knife in the drawer.

Shredders include: Mike Aitken, Eddie Cleveland, Chase Hawk, Edwin Delarosa, Tom White, Justin Inman, Brian Foster, Chase Dehart, and a bunch of other riders that are better than you.
